Most Liked

The standout aspect at Bowen’s Chippy is the extraordinary portion sizes. Many patrons remark how the large chips could easily accommodate three or even four diners, offering excellent value for money.

Customers love the variety available, from gluten-free and vegan options to delicious curry sauces that can easily elevate the flavor profile of traditional dishes.

The menu surprises with offerings like battered sausage, cod, and rissole, all cooked fresh to order, showcasing quality and consistency that keeps diners satisfied. Moreover, the friendly staff enhances the overall experience, frequently guiding guests through the curry sauce selection, ensuring a memorable visit.

Most Disliked

Although Bowen’s is beloved, some patrons mention that during peak hours, the service can slow down due to the high demand. It's advisable to call in your order, especially on busy weekends. The popularity can sometimes lead to a crowded atmosphere, making parking a challenge during peak times.

A few diners noted the staff could be more welcoming, though the quality of food compensates for any minor shortcomings in service. The rissole has received mixed reviews, with some finding it bland compared to the standout fish and chips. These experiences may vary, but they provide a balanced perspective for potential visitors.

What a brilliant Fish and Chip shop! Has lots of variety on menu for different diets to please whole family. Good value for money as generous portions and all food was cooked fresh to order. Has parking out front and accessible entrance. Some benches outside. Staff are friendly and helpful, appreciated getting to try diff curry sauces to help with my choice! I had large cod and large chips, large battered sausage, curry sauce and bread roll for £17. Large chips enough for 3 people, 4 if smaller eater with you. Batter was light and crispy, not greasy. Fish flakey and good quality and well cooked. Best battered sausage. Chips are well cooked and tasty.

Absolutely stunning, massive portion of chips, couldn't take it on! All freshly cooked and we got the fruity curry sauce, however, we could have had mild or spicy too! Battered sausage was best I've ever had.

Great food. Generous portions. Parking right outside. Things were cooked fresh to order. I didn't use them myself but was impressed that the menus had selections for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. The bill was a lovely surprise too.

Really good chippy. I don't know why we haven't gone here before. The chips were cooked perfectly. The staff could be more pleasant but the food made up for any unpleasantness. The portion size is awesome and I think the large chips could feed 4 people. I like the number system of the ordering so that you know when and where your order is. I would more than happily suggest this chippy to others. You can also park right outside.

The chips are most probably the best in the area but unless you phone your order through you have to wait a bit. Curry sauce selection is good and tasty, rissole was a bit bland but the fish is battered well and cooked to perfection. Parking is a nightmare when busy, but to be fair to staff they are as quick as possible and dont stop. How they coped during the hot weather I dont know but their standards were still high and the place still looked clean. A great little gold nuggest in a small village.

Decent chippy in a beautiful part of the world. For this reason I was prepared for a big bill, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was cheaper than our local chippy in Manchester! Fish and chips were spot on, friendly staff who gave us advice on where to find some karaoke later on, outside seating area and free parking.

Really good fish and chips if you're staying at Pembrey. The pea fritters were also very generous. Best chips I've had for a while.
